Looking for a perfect meeting space for your next corporate event? The Dakota Event Center has over 24,000 square feet and can accommodate up to 2,000 people. Whether you are planning a small meeting with just 25 guests, or looking to host a conference in Aberdeen, we are your DECisive answer. Throughout the year, the DEC is utilized for tradeshows, conventions, board meetings, trainings, seminars and executive level events.

Our event space features high ceilings and a soft color palette with limitless potential to make the area your own. Each room has LCD ceiling mounted projectors with drop down screens, Bose speaker sound system, fully dynamic programmable lighting with multiple lighting schemes, wireless microphone system, wireless internet, internet access hubs, video/telephone conference capabilities and web-casting capabilities.

The DEC is located in one of the busiest areas of town and is within walking distance from the Aberdeen mall, various banks & ATMs, restaurants and shopping areas including Target & Walmart. Besides being just five minutes from the Aberdeen Regional Airport, we are also less than two miles away from Industrial Park that is home to 3M, Midstates Printing, Banner Engineering, Twin City Fan, Wooden Mallet, and BAE Systems. Meeting attendees will enjoy staying at one of our two adjoining hotels and dining at Maverick’s Steak & Cocktails; all with indoor access to the Event Center.

All rooms at the DEC are equipped with the technology you need to have a board meeting, training, guest speaker lecture, presentations, or seminars. Room setup options include:

  • Classroom, theatre, crescent, u-shape or boardroom clothed tables
  • Tables for registration, vendor or product display, etc. clothed and skirted
  • Complete setup including tables, champagne linens, china & silverware
  • Catering options include beverages, breakfast buffets, lunch buffets, plated lunches, deli entrees, dinner buffets, plated dinners, steak dinners, desserts, hors d’oeuvres, and bakery & snacks

Conventions and Tradeshows

The Dakota Event Center is large enough to handle any size convention or tradeshow. Need to bring in large products like a boat or car? Our convention center has garage access to assist in this request.

  • Room setup options: booth or vendor display sectioned areas, classroom, or theatre style seating
  • All tables clothed
  • Tables for registrations, payment, or display etc clothed and skirted
  • Catering options include beverages, breakfast buffets, lunch buffets, plated lunches, deli entrees, dinner buffets, plated dinners, steak dinners, desserts, hors d’oeuvres, and bakery & snacks
