The Dakota Event Center opened in 2010 and on its first day hosted a major event; the Aberdeen Ag Expo. Since then we have been the premiere event complex in the Aberdeen area hosting everything from intimate weddings to full scale rock concerts. As the largest event complex in Northeast South Dakota, we pride ourselves on offering an expansive array of services and space to fit everyone. Jenny

Director of Sales Before moving back to Aberdeen, her hometown, Jenny lived in Fayetteville, Arkansas, where she spent 4 years caring for her mom. She decided to move back to her hometown. Jenny initially worked at Mavericks for the past 4 years. Jenny was later appointed the Director of Sales in April 2021. She loves how the Dakota Event Center can transform from a convention to a beautiful wedding to a concert! As a mother of 2 girls, she is always on the go! She loves spending time with her family and friends.

Banquet Manager Austin Toupal brings years of event experience and knowledge to the banquet team at The DEC. Austin will be present at all events making sure the event is running smoothly from start to finish.  He will be your go-to person if you should need anything.  One of his many strengths is making sure the customer is happy!
